UMANAH RALLIES ABAK SUPPORT FOR ENO, TINUBU, AKPABIO, APC CANDIDATES…Says Gov. Eno has justified the people’s confidence in him.

The Akwa Ibom State Commissioner for Information, Rt. Hon. (Elder) Aniekan Umanah, has called on the people of Abak to sustain their support for Governor Umo Eno, President Bola Tinubu, Senate President Godswill Akpabio and all candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC), maintaining that the party has remained the only political platform delivering visible and people-oriented development across all levels of government.

Umanah made the call on Saturday, August 1, 2026, during an endorsement rally organised by the Forum of Former APC Chairmanship, Vice Chairmanship and Councillorship Aspirants in Abak Local Government Area.

Addressing party faithful and supporters, the Commissioner commended Governor Umo Eno for what he described as transformative leadership and unprecedented development across the State, particularly in Abak Local Government Area.

According to him, the Governor has executed several landmark projects in the area, including the construction of a world-class Model Primary School and a state-of-the-art Model Primary Healthcare Centre equipped with facilities comparable to those of a General Hospital.

He further highlighted the Governor’s extensive road infrastructure programme in Abak, listing the Ediene–Etinan Road, Abak–Itenge Road, Hospital Road/Ukpom Road/Idoro Road, which has since been commissioned, and the Manta Road which is in progress. He noted that the projects have improved connectivity, stimulated economic activities and enhanced the living standards of residents.

Umanah also applauded Governor Eno for appointing several sons and daughters of Abak into key positions in government, describing the appointments as a demonstration of the Governor’s commitment to inclusive governance, equitable representation and grassroots development.

Speaking on the Renewed Hope administration, the Information Commissioner commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for implementing policies that have strengthened the financial capacity of state governments to undertake critical development projects. He also referenced the Federal Government’s ₦75,000 Conditional Cash Transfer Programme for vulnerable Nigerians, noting that many residents of Abak have benefitted from the initiative.

On the performance of the Senate President, Umanah praised Senator Godswill Akpabio for facilitating impactful constituency projects across Abak Local Government Area and the wider Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District. He recalled the recent commissioning of a modern classroom block at McIntire Secondary Commercial School, Abak, as well as several road and other development projects attracted to the area through the Senate President’s interventions.

He thanked the organisers of the endorsement rally for acknowledging the remarkable achievements of Governor Umo Eno, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Senate President Godswill Akpabio, noting that their impressive performances in office have earned them the confidence and continued support of the people.

The Commissioner urged party faithful to intensify grassroots mobilisation ahead of future elections and work collectively to ensure the victory of all APC candidates. He also called on residents to protect public infrastructure and government assets, stressing that safeguarding public property is a shared responsibility essential for sustaining development and attracting further investments.
