Current Dollar to Naira Black Market Rate Today, August 29, 2026

The United States dollar is trading around ₦1,400 to ₦1,410 in Nigeria’s parallel foreign exchange market on Saturday, August 29, 2026, as the naira continues to record relative stability against the dollar.

Current market trackers show some variation across locations and dealers. NairaToday reports a buying rate of about ₦1,400 per US dollar and a selling rate of ₦1,410, while other market aggregators are quoting rates around ₦1,405 to ₦1,415.

This means that Nigerians selling one US dollar to a parallel-market dealer could receive approximately ₦1,400, while those seeking to purchase one dollar may pay around ₦1,410, depending on the dealer, location and amount involved.

Recent market reports have shown the dollar trading within a relatively narrow range in the parallel market. Vanguard reported that the dollar was quoted at approximately ₦1,400 buying and ₦1,410 selling on August 27, with the parallel-market rate remaining considerably above the official rate.

Another exchange-rate tracker, Aboki Forex, currently places the dollar at around ₦1,390 buying and ₦1,400 selling, highlighting the differences that can occur between dealers and market locations.

The variation is largely because the parallel foreign exchange market is unofficial and rates are influenced by immediate demand and supply conditions. Prices can also differ between Lagos, Abuja, Kano, Port Harcourt and other major trading centres.

For Nigerians who need dollars for international travel, school fees, imports, online payments or other foreign transactions, the difference between the buying and selling rates can have a significant impact on the final naira cost.

The official foreign exchange rate remains lower than the parallel-market quotation. A recent market tracker put the official rate at approximately ₦1,337 per dollar, although official rates and bank rates may vary depending on the applicable market and transaction.

The naira’s performance has been supported by improved foreign-exchange liquidity and stronger external reserves, although market conditions remain subject to changes in dollar supply, oil revenues, remittances, investor flows and demand for foreign currency.

For now, the indicative black-market rate on August 29, 2026 is around ₦1,400/$ for buying and ₦1,410/$ for selling, but Nigerians are advised to confirm the actual rate with their dealer immediately before completing any transaction because parallel-market prices can change during the day.
