Several governments and international organizations have called for stronger global agreements to regulate the military use of artificial intelligence, emphasizing the importance of maintaining meaningful human control over decisions involving the use of force.

Developing countries face unique opportunities and challenges in the AI revolution. Nations such as Nigeria have growing populations of young technology professionals capable of contributing to global AI innovation. However, inadequate digital infrastructure, unreliable electricity, limited research funding, and unequal access to quality education continue to slow progress. Strategic investments in broadband connectivity, STEM education, research institutions, and technology startups could enable developing economies to participate more effectively in the AI-driven global economy.

Despite these concerns, AI also offers tremendous opportunities for sustainable development. It can improve agricultural productivity through precision farming, enhance disaster prediction and response, optimize energy consumption, support climate research, and expand financial inclusion through intelligent financial services. When deployed responsibly, AI has the potential to improve the quality of life for millions of people.

The future of artificial intelligence will depend not only on technological advancement but also on responsible governance. Governments, technology companies, academic institutions, and civil society must work together to establish policies that encourage innovation while protecting human rights, privacy, and public trust.

Ultimately, artificial intelligence is neither inherently good nor inherently harmful.
